Registered Veterinary Technician- The Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to community service and one of our primary goals of the Animal Care Division is to reduce the homeless pet population in Solano County.  You can make a difference by joining our team as a Veterinary Technician (Registered). Under general supervision, Veterinary Technicians (Registered) assist Veterinarians in healthcare of and surgeries for animals brought into the shelter and the spay/neuter clinic:  perform a range of para-professional and housekeeping duties to include conducting pre-operative exams, inducing and observing reaction to anesthesia, monitoring recovery after surgery, dispensing medications or treatments; maintaining medical supplies; and performing routine cleaning of medical equipment, facilities and caging.  They also may provide lead direction to Animal Care Specialists. Part-time Outreach Coordinator- The City of Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a Part-time Outreach Coordinator. This position will be responsible for coordinating monthly offsite adoption events and housing of animals at various retail locations. The work is performed in an animal shelter environment where there same risks and hazards. One year of education and/or experience in an animal shelter or animal welfare environment. Experience in community outreach, marketing and/or advertising is preferred. FL Class E Driver's License is required and must be maintained.
