Executive Director- The Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, Inc. has an opening for an Executive Director to manage the ongoing operation and planned expansion of our no-kill shelter.  Located in central Florida on the edge of The Villages, one of the fastest-growing communities in the country, we are experiencing rapid growth.  Daily care of our shelter animals always comes first; however, in the coming months, important projects like major fundraising, planning our future and developing a capital campaign to build a new shelter on the five acres we own must be undertaken in order for us to continue to meet the growth in Sumter County and to best serve its animals and residents. In order to do this we will be adding more qualified team members. The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the animal shelter in accordance with all Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, Inc. policies and any applicable State and Federal requirements.  The Executive Director also works closely with the Board of Directors developing a business plan designed to support the HS/SPCA Mission and programs.  The Executive Director will report monthly at the Board of Directors meeting on all animal shelter operations including community outreach and educational activities.  The Executive Director will also advise the Board of staff issues related to shelter personnel.  The Executive Director will be responsible for the hiring, training, supervision and scheduling of all staff and volunteers of the animal shelter.  The Executive Director should also be familiar with grant writing procedures for Non-Profit organizations.

Columbus Consolidated Government Animal Care and Control - Columbus, GA

Animal Control Veterinarian G23- Performs spay/neuter surgeries on animals that have become the property of the City of Columbus and are available for adoption, primarily dogs, and cats. Establish and maintain ongoing training for all shelter staff to include the updating and completion of the Shelter SOP's. Teaching, training, and or directing the Shelter Supervisor or shelter staff in disease prevention for shelter animals, vaccination practices, parasite control, and nutrition, shelter air quality, shelter animal stress reduction and management principles of population density. Animal Protective Association of Missouri Adoption Center - St. Louis, MO

Associate Veterinarian- The Associate Veterinarian provides routine and preventative care at the APA’s low cost Wellness Clinic. The APA’s Wellness Clinic is open to the public and offers services such as vaccinations, heartworm testing, FIV/FeLV testing, and fecals. The Associate Veterinarian also assists with the diagnosis and treatment of animals at the APA Adoption Center. Veterinarian- Employee performs professional work by establishing and implementing the necessary veterinary protocols at the Cumberland County Animal Shelter to provide the best possible care and treatment to all animals entering and existing the shelter. Duties include developing, implementing and managing veterinary processes, programs and systems that address health and disease prevention needs in a shelter environment to reduce euthanasia, enhance life expectancy and reduce behavior problems in shelter animals. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated in terms of the effectiveness of the veterinary program. Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the State of North Carolina.
