Destiny Houghton, senior manager, network partner experience

Destiny Houghton is the Senior Manager, Network Partner Experience. Born and raised in Florida, she currently lives in the Daytona area. She attended the University of Central Florida and started her career in animal welfare during college at a shelter in Orlando. Little did she know, that college gig would become her life career. Over the last 10 years, she has worked in various aspects of animal welfare from shelter management to wildlife rehab to clinic management, and joined Best Friends in 2021. She can confidently say that collaboration amongst shelters, rescues and the community itself is the key to lifesaving. Now, being on the team that connects those animal welfare stakeholders to each other, and to the vast amount of resources available to support lifesaving, is truly rewarding. 

Destiny is a huge football fan, loves road trips and museum hopping, and spends most of her free time outdoors, thanks to the beautiful Florida weather. She has a farm full of animals at home and a toddler, and both are equally as chaotic and rewarding.
