Rescue Roundtable
Help Lead the Charge Toward No-Kill 2025
In recent years, national animal welfare data has shown a troubling trend: a decrease in dog and cat transfers out from 2019 and 2023. Shelters across the country are struggling to save more lives as they face limited space and resources. But here’s the reality—organizations do not operate in silos. We are all part of an interconnected ecosystem. For communities to achieve no-kill, it’s essential that every organization, from shelters to rescues, collaborates in lifesaving.
Rescue Roundtable is a growth intensive designed to support rescues in becoming high volume lifesaving partners. Through peer mentorship and tailored guidance, rescues will strengthen their organization’s capacity to increase transfers and support shelters in their efforts to reach no-kill. These weekly virtual sessions are open to a limited number of rescues, ensuring personalized support and engagement.
To make this happen, the Best Friends Network is partnering with Heather Owen, founder and Executive Director of One Tail at a Time, to bring her proven expertise directly to participating rescues. Heather’s success in growing her rescue through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and strategic intake means she's been where you are—and knows how to help you scale your lifesaving capacity even more. By participating, you’ll not only help your rescue grow, but also contribute to a nationwide movement to make an even bigger impact.
