Aimee Charlton, digital community outreach manager
I grew up with an animal or two most of my life but was naive to the issue homeless pets were facing. I’m a teacher by degree and at heart, who somehow ended up using my skills in corporate america for the bulk of my career prior to my role here at Best Friends.
Most of my experience comes from a 12-year stint at Intuit, where I served in many capacities relating to content management, online community building and engagement. I was also in the classroom for many years prior to that, teaching anywhere from 7th grade-university level. I’m a word nerd and a people person, who also figured it would be fun to jump into the digital learning arena. Today, I get to mix all that together with the uber goal of saving animals!
I have two daughters, a son, and one rescue dog named Charlie White, who wooed me with his charm during my Hurricane Harvey deployment. He basically runs our household these days. I live in Pleasant Grove, UT and in my spare time I love to travel and enjoy the outdoors whether it’s kayaking, paddle boarding or snow-shoeing in the winter.
I’ve been with Best Friends since 2016 and I’m excited to help connect people and resources to create meaningful learning opportunities for rescues and shelters, with the goal of empowering leadership among animal advocates across the U.S.
