Sherri Plemons, shelter engagement strategist

Sherri Plemons - Best Friends Animal SocietySherri Plemons has been with Best Friends Animal Society since 2021, working closely with shelters and rescue organizations to create and implement foster and volunteer programs from scratch to save more animals. In addition to this, she provides mentorship to help shelters expand and improve their existing programs, focusing on building community engagement and teaching best practices in the shelter. Sherri loves the challenge of navigating shelters through difficult situations, doing whatever it takes to help them increase their lifesaving.

With over 10 years of experience as a foster caregiver for dogs, cats, and kittens, as well as volunteering at her local animal control and nonprofits, Sherri brings a wealth of knowledge to the programs she supports. In her current role as a Strategist for the Shelter Engagement Team, Sherri works directly with organizations by offering customized guidance, trainings, and implementing programs that are crucial in achieving their lifesaving goals.

Sherri currently lives in Georgia with her husband, their two children, and their three dogs, cats, and a constantly revolving door of foster animals. Outside of her work and volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her family, adding to her plant collection, traveling to the beach, and watching the Atlanta Braves.
