Lauren Campbell, shelter engagement specialist
Lauren began her career in animal welfare in 2016 when she met her first foster dog, Bronco. Lauren quickly fell in love with fostering and wanted to do more to help shelter animals! Fostering led her to volunteering as a dog walker and then volunteering led her to landing a job at that shelter working in animal care. Since then, Lauren has worked in animal shelters located in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey focusing on creating foster programs, implementing conversation-based adoption models, managing shelter operations and promoting community cat programs. Some of her most recent roles include Lifesaving Manager, Operations Manager and Behavioral Programs Manager. During her career she has integrated herself into every department of the shelter to grow her knowledge, help alleviate bottlenecks, lessen length of stay for animals and ensure strong communication across each department. Lauren is passionate about collaborating with shelter staff to implement or grow programs that will have a positive impact on the animals and the communities they serve.
Lauren resides in Delaware with her family which includes her three dogs, two cats and her young son. When she is not working Lauren enjoys running, visiting her favorite coffee shops and spending time on the river.
