Carrie Lalonde, strategist, shelter engagement

Carrie Lalonde has worked for Best Friends since 2009. Her career started at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah where she held a variety of positions in donor relations, social media, marketing, and community engagement. In 2019, Carrie moved into a national role with Best Friends managing the volunteer program for emergency response and high-volume transports. At that time, she moved back to her home state of Texas and eventually became the program manager for Best Friends in Houston. During that time, Carrie oversaw the lifesaving program team based in Houston and cultivated relationships with hundreds of animal welfare organizations. In 2025, Carrie became a regional strategist for the East Coast Region. Carrie lives in Texas with her husband, daughter, a toothless chihuahua, a sight impaired cat, and a revolving door of foster pets.
