42.5 million Americans live with disabilities such as hearing, vision, cognitive, learning, walking, self-care, or independent living difficulties (U.S. Census Bureau). The U.S. lifesaving gap in 2023 was 415,000 pets. What lifesaving progress could we accomplish by improving accessibility for people with disabilities and ensuring they know they are welcome and safe with shelters and rescues?
