Anna Gachechiladze, shelter engagement specialist
Anna shares her century-old home with one husband, two dogs, four cats, and thirteen hens in the North Carolina town where she was born and raised.
Over the past 8 years, Anna’s animal welfare career has spanned non-profit brick and mortar sheltering, foster-based rescue, and municipal sheltering in NC. She has worn many different hats across these organizations, but her passion lies in adoption programs and all things cats. Anna is dedicated to in-shelter programming that provides creative solutions for positive animal outcomes and fosters trust between shelter and community. You can often find her taking photos of shelter pets or scheming on wacky ways to promote them.
While Anna’s personality may be best described as an ‘indoor cat’, she works avidly to improve the lives of all cats, both in and outside of shelters. She has a passion for in-shelter behavior and enrichment for cats, as well as implementation of effective community cat programming that seeks to improve the lives and manage the population of our outdoor feline friends.
Anna is dedicated to learning and spreading innovative ideas across animal welfare spaces to improve the lives of both animals as well as the vast community of humans that care for and about them.
