Emily Lancione, regional specialist
Emily Lancione started her career in animal welfare as a kennel tech and caregiver at Nevada Humane Society in 2014. After eight years, she had worked her way up to Animal Care Director before joining Best Friends as a Manager of Operations for the Embed Project. In this role, Emily led projects in Rhea County, TN, and Selma, AL.
Emily is passionate about shelter operations, from large dog pathway planning to enrichment programming and playgroups. She loves getting hands-on and working directly with shelters to streamline operations and increase lifesaving outcomes.
Originally from northeast Ohio, Emily moved out west after high school and has embraced a bit of a nomadic lifestyle ever since. Outside of work, she loves to travel with her wife, Baylie, and their senior aussie, Hobbes. Emily welcomes a foster into her home every chance she gets - most likely a medical case with some attitude. In her downtime, you’ll likely find her thrifting or exploring the outdoors.
