Jennifer Adkins, operations manager

Jennifer Adkins is a Manager, Embed Project Operations with Best Friends Animal Society. She has a rich background in both shelter operations and community support. Jen began her career in animal welfare in 2013, starting as a kennel attendant and gradually taking on various roles in animal shelters and veterinary clinics over the past 11 years. Her passion and commitment to helping animals and their caregivers reflect her deep-rooted belief in the importance of lifesaving initiatives within the community.

From 2019 to 2022, Jen served as a member of the Best Friends embed department, where she worked closely with shelter staff and volunteers to enhance their efforts in saving the lives of pets across the country. In 2022, she transitioned to become the Executive Director of her local animal shelter, furthering her impact in the field. Earlier this year, Jen made the decision to rejoin the Best Friends embed team, excited about the opportunity to continue supporting shelters and their missions.

A proud Idahoan, Jen lives just outside Boise with her husband and their two wonderful sons. The family enjoys caring for their cats, dogs, and horses, and they often spend their free time watching new movies, gardening, playing in the backyard, and traveling to their favorite vacation spots when their schedule and budget allow.
