Marlan Roberts, senior manager of operations, embed program
Marlan Roberts joined the Best Friends Embed team in March of 2022. Marlan is originally from Kansas City, Missouri where he started his work in the animal welfare, customer centric sector. Over the past 13 years Marlan worked within agencies throughout the United States to leverage local and abroad resources, empowering communities to become sustainable and impact systemic changes. He has experience in successfully developing and implementing standard operating procedures, shelter and field best practices and community initiatives. In addition, he has employed strategies to break down barriers preventing pet owners from making logical, impactful decisions for their pets. Some of Marlan’s most proud experiences involve leading efforts with community cats, high volume spay/neuter and primary pet care operations and grass roots engagement. Throughout Marlan’s work he has also been able to deploy to various disaster sites to drive emergency response efforts including emergency pet shelter, animal medical care and husbandry and pet reunification.
Marlan is the proud owner of two rescue pups Mega (5-year-old Shih-Tzu) and Milo (12-year-old Chihuahua mix) whom he adores. In his free time Marlan enjoys traveling and experiencing outdoor activities. He is looking forward to learning to cook more and gardening soon.
