Peace of Mind Dog Rescue - Monterey, CA
Veterinarian- Peace of Mind Dog Rescue (POMDR) is looking for an experienced veterinarian for our brand new state-of-the-art clinic located in Monterey, CA opening in November. POMDR is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for senior dogs and senior people on California's Central Coast.
Our vet clinic will provide services to the 100 dogs in our care at any given time. We provide complete medical and dental care to all dogs in our program. A two bed-room rental for $2,200 per month, on-site ,is available if needed. Qualifications include: Dental and Surgical skills necessary, strong organizational skills, strong communication skills, ability to work in a small clinic environment with volunteers, self-motivated, strong interpersonal skills, passion for helping senior dogs and senior people, Rescue/Shelter/Senior Dog Experience, affinity for and experience for senior dogs, experience with volunteering, animal rescue, animal welfare, nonprofit a plus. Lifeline Animal Project - Atlanta, GA
Adoption Retention Counselor- Duties revolve around adopters that have selected or already taken home an animal from one of our facilities. Duties include making training videos and materials that can be given to adopters. Follow up with adopters during the decompression time after adoption to see how things are going. Take referrals of adopters that have called with issues with a newly adopted pet or pet they are considering returning. Collect data on number of adopters assisted, common adoption questions, adoption returns, etc. In addition to these duties all staff members are to assist any visitors to the shelter and not leave them until they have placed them with another staff member that is ready to assist them. All staff members must assist any animal in need and make sure all areas of the shelter are clean and neat throughout the day. Animal Services Director- Responsible for establishing overall goals for the Animal Shelter, Animal Control Officers and associated programs, including adoptions, rescues, spay/neuter, volunteer programs, etc. Plans work operations and determines changes in procedural standards or guidelines. Identifies necessary resources for meeting program goals. Directs program supervisors and other staff to implement goals. Assures compliance with all Federal, State and local laws (ordinances), rules, regulations and standards. Consults with program supervisors to review any potential problems or concerns. Makes necessary changes in the structure of programs to meet current needs. Makes long range plans and reviews activities problems and functions of programs with program supervisors. Routinely evaluates the operational effectiveness of programs and implements changes as needed. Directly responsible for problem/complaint resolution involving the public and assuring the appropriate action is taken and documentation is accurate and complete. Completes a wide variety of administrative reports and/or documents used in recording departmental activities. This includes monthly reports to document Animal Services data related to Animal Shelter activities including all available data. Assess the overall needs of programs including personnel, training needs, capital needs, equipment and supply needs. Participates in the preparation of the annual budget for the Animal Services Program, reviews budget expenditures to assure proper utilization of funds and is responsible for managing operational budgets for these programs, including the purchase of supplies and equipment. Effectively manage Rescue Group relationships. Continually develop and oversee Foster Care and Volunteer Programs. Prepare new creative ways to interact with the public and market the programs in both of these areas. Directly responsible for the Adoption Program. With assistance from all staff, schedule, develop and market Adoption Events. Responsible for overseeing the Spay/Neuter Program and general animal health. Responsible for developing and maintaining all Social Media and Advertising for the Animal Services and related programs. Consults with outside professionals as necessary.
