About

Peggy Kennedy, Pacific region transport coordinator

Peggy Kennedy with a dog in front of the Hollywood signMy journey to Best Friends began, quite literally, with a car trip in 2004. I took a leave of absence from my position at Capital One, and my dog Alex and I drove from Boston to Kanab for a life-changing internship at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.

Not long after my internship ended, I resigned from Capital One, moved to Los Angeles, became owner/general manager of Fetch Pet Care of the Hollywood Hills, and a Best Friends LA volunteer. Back then, it was mostly mobile adoptions and walking dogs that were boarded at various facilities around town. I continued volunteering with Best Friends as the Mission Hills location opened and NKLA kicked off, and I became heavily involved with an NKLA Coalition Partner, Angel City Pit Bulls. My roles with ACPB have included many things, but I am probably most well-known for my coordination of our twice monthly pack hikes for fosters, alumni and the community.

I am excited to join the transport team here in the Pacific Region (California, Oregon and Washington) and inspired by all of our hard-working partners who are ready to take change the world for so many animals.

I live in Los Angeles with my husband and our two pit bull mixes, who enjoy running and hiking with me on our many beautiful trails in the hills.
