Workshop Attendee Says It With Poetry
May 21, 2007 : 12:00 AM
by Linda Conley
What an honor and pleasure meeting you all, I can honestly say, I did
have a ball!
Each one of you touched me with something unique,
Your humor, your passion, my interest did pique.
I came away knowing I'm not really alone, There are others just like me, hearts warm, not as stone.
We're scattered all over but in this together, Fighting for every fin,
fur, and feather.
They have no real voice, other than us,
So, painful at times, go onward we must.
My wish for you dear ones, gentle rain for your tears, The peace of the canyons to allay all your fears.
The joy of a filly running in pasture,
A dog's sweet content at home with his master.
The sleep of a cat curled up in the sun,
And fun like a bunny out for a run.
You're good and you're decent pursuing a cause, Take care of yourselves with a breath and a pause.
On behalf of the creatures, you're giving your all,
Pat yourself on the back, smile, and stand tall!
