Diana VanDusen, a Lakewood, WA woman, started helping out by taking in the animals that deployed soldiers from Fort Lewis had to leave behind. The Fort Lewis animal shelter shut down and Diana stepped in! Some of the animals are reclaimed when the soldiers come home; however, many animals still remain with Diana. But now it's time to help Diana and these rescued animals. The Animal Control officers have advised her that she's in violation of the city code due to the amount of animals in her care. She will be fined by April 14th if she doesn't reduce the number of animals in her home. Most of the animals are old and/or disabled, but certainly still deserve a loving home.
