Best Friends members frequently tell us that they wished they lived closer to the Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah so that they could come out and volunteer with the animals.
“What can we do to help from so far away?” they ask.
We have an answer! Become a Best Friends Ambassador.
Ambassadors volunteer for community outreach, most often by tabling at various events to talk about the good work of Best Friends, hand out literature, answer questions, and even collect donations. They share the message of kindness and compassion for animals, and for all living things, and professionally and positively communicate the Best Friends mission of “A Better World Through Kindness to Animals.”
Current ambassador events are posted on the “calendar” tab at
http://network.bestfriends.org/ambassadors .
We’re also assembling a special forces Ambassador team to help with the high priority program for the multi-faith Religious Proclamation for Animal Compassion. This team will be specially trained and equipped to represent Best Friends to talk with others about the Proclamation for Animal Compassion and to solicit signatures, either directly or by networking.
You can read more about the Proclamation and add your signature at
http://network.bestfriends.org/religion. To read the full text of the Proclamation, click on the “Sign Proclamation” tab. And you can view the volunteer position description for this special program on the “resources” tab at

We know that there are many of you out there who not only promote kindness but who also talk about Best Friends to your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and others you meet in your daily lives. From the staff and all the animals at Best Friends, thank you for everything you’re doing!
We’d love to have you join the Ambassador team and become one of our community outreach experts to share your passion for the animals in your local area. If you’re interested, it’s easy to get started! Just send an email to Ellen at elleng@bestfriends.org.
