I am the Executive Director of KittyCorner of CNY, Inc, a non-profit cat rescue program. I am also one of the founders, and on the board of the Syracuse-Onondaga Cat Council, a group charged with iimplementing a very broad set of goals aimed at solving the "cat problem" in Syracuse and Onondaga County. Since there are no low-cost spay/neuter programs in our area, we decided that we needed to start one. After all, we can't tell people to have their pets sterilized unless we have a place to send them that they can afford.

The Spay and Neuter Syracuse Clinic opened in November of 2005. We have been doing about eight "surgery days" a month, but the waiting list is long and we could easily be open every day--if we could find enough veterinarians and technicians to staff it.

Professionally, i am a librarian who loves all textile related crafts, though I seldom have time for them between scooping litter boxes. I live with four cats of my own, many foster cats, two rabbits and an African Grey parrot who tells me every day "you're a nut!" My sister, Deb, lives here too. She is also not only a librarian, but is our adoption counselor and shares the workload.
