Animals and Art. Apparently in that order. I was an asst curator in NYC for a famous artist for over a dozen years. I was at Sally Ganz's townhouse to look at the Picasso's and I found I was more interested in her cat. I knew it was time for a career change.

I graduated from the Academy of Canine Education in Fresh Meadows, Queens and hooked up with BARC (Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition). I was their "Ask The Dog Trainer" at the Mayor's Alliance adoption events, and went on to work with the BARC shelter dogs and their owners - helping adoptive families forge a permanent bond with their new charges while deploying purely positive reinforcement training techniques. Getting people to realize what a wonderful opportunity it is to effectively communicate with their dog, and not a chore, has been a dream come true. Coming to Best Friends in 2004 has been a continuation of that dream. Working within the animal welfare movement is the most challenging and rewarding of all professions! Every single person involved makes a difference every day.
