I teach English and Speech at Purdue University here in Westville, write for our local newspaper and work part time at the local store of a large national bookstore chain. I've been visiting Best Friends almost every year since about 1999. I've been involved in local animal rescue since 1995. Currently, I write and post pet descriptions for a local rescue, Last Chance Rescue, of Schererville, Indiana. I am the lucky guardian of several rescued cats and a Siberian Husky named Billy. I visit Best Friends at least once a year. We enjoy staying at the cottages and watching the horses in the pasture. I usually walk dogs at the Lodges, the Garden and Fairway, and end up taking home dogs for sleepovers nearly every night we are there.
