I love animals of all kinds, but cats and dogs have most of my heart. I hope to become more active in organizations that work to make a better, kinder, safer world for animals. The more I learn about animal welfare, the more I want to get involved. Right now I want to focus on issues such as supporting TNR, protecting feral/stray/abandoned cats, ending puppy mills, and encouraging humane education. I believe that widespread social reform must occur so that all animals -- and humans -- can live peacefully and without fear and pain. Such a world may not be possible in my lifetime, but I know Best Friends Animal Society is one organization that will help us tremendously in changing the ways in which we think about animals and each other. Kindness, compassion, and hope are crucial toward progress and peace in the world!Some day soon my husband and I will take a vacation out at Best Friends. I know the minute I get there I'll be in heaven.
