Hi, My name is Shar Fleming and I am a HUGE animal lover. I am currently owned by 4 dogs, a yellow lab named Bo Duke, 2 black labs named Molly and Kelli and a Border Collie mix named Rocky. My fiance has 2 black labs as well, Maggie and Jersey, and all 6 of our dogs were rescued in one way or another. We also have 2 rescued cats, Miss Ellie and Angel. I have always been a Dog Person but am very surprised at how much I now Love cats!!

I lost my very best friend and companion of almost 12 years on October 6, 2005. His name was Presley, a Dalmatian picture above, and we suffered together through his 4-year long struggle with degenerative disc disease. I know Presley is now at the Rainbow Bridge and I feel very blessed to have had him with me as my constant and loving companion for all those years. There will always be a special place in my heart that will belong only to my Angel dog, Presley.

I promised myself I would come to Best Friends when I lost Presley as I have always felt a calling to go there to help with the animals. I visited Best Friends in April 2006 and wound up falling in Love with, none other than, Elvis, a 14-year-old Black Lab mix! I immediately made arrangements to adopt him and he came home to me on April 7, 2006. I felt that he needed and deserved a home and a family of his very own in his twilight years. As soon as he arrived, everyone fell head over heels in love with him and he made a wonderful and much loved addition to our family.

Unfortunately, he was only with us for less than 10 short months as he made his journey to the Rainbow Bridge on Jan. 19, 2007. I truly believe that he knew his life was complete once he had a family of his very own. We gave him as much love and the best life we could in his last months on this Earth and, for that, we will be forever grateful. He was a joy and a blessing and there will never be another Elvis.
