Twelve more dogs go to shelter, for a total of 152
A Wisconsin breeder has been able to stay out of too much trouble by surrendering a few dogs at a time to authorities. The breeder, whose name has not been released is aware that he or she is under a careful watch for cruelty, and has allegedly avoided legal action by agreeing to surrender dogs to the Animal Humane Society.
The organization states that they try to have just enough of a relationship with “problem” breeders so that they will turn in dogs if they’re in trouble. Last week, twelve more dogs got out of the breeding facility and will be put up for adoption. The breeder’s slow relinquishment has been taking place since March of 2007. The shelter says there are only a handful of dogs left at the facility.
