Mighty Texas Dog Walk hopes to bring the award back to the Lone Star State on Saturday, May 17.
It is that time of year again, when the people and dogs of Texas will try to win back the Guinness World Record for the largest dog walk. More than 10,272 canines are needed to participate to bring this honor back to Texas. All proceeds from the day go to fund the
Texas Hearing and Service Dogs organization. This is their biggest fundraiser of the year and subsidizes the approximate $18,000 to train each service dog.
There is a new location this year. Rather than at Sunset Valley, the three mile walk will be held in downtown Austin, starting at the Congress Avenue Bridge and proceeding along Cesar Chavez Street.
Date: Saturday, May 17
Time: 10:30 AM
Place: Congress Avenue Bridge
Austin, Texas
Cost: $25 advance registration, $30 day of event
