Tennessee Community Forum Helps Place Abandoned Animals
May 18, 2008 : 7:33 PM
Communication and cooperation reign here at the Tennessee Community! Our Forum which has been created to help place our abandoned and forgotten shelter animals is live & ready for use!
It can be found under the Forum tab at:
"TN Adoption/Rehabilitation/Rehoming Requests"
Lisa Hicks, who has been writing some wonderful profiles of animals needing adoption has offered to moderate this Forum and help keep it happening and up-to-date. Here's a little more about Lisa:
"I live in Maryville, TN where I was born and raised. Maryville is located right outside Knoxville at the base of the Great Smokey Mountains. I work as an accountant for Covenant Health, one of the largest healthcare corporations in the state. I am married to my husband Jeff who is a Blount County Police Officer. We have been married for 13 years next month. We have not been fortunate enough to have human children, but we have made up for it in canine/feline children. We have five dogs (a beagle mix, a poodle mix, a Yorkshire Terrier and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels), two cats (both are mutts) and two birds (Cockateils). They all rule the roost. I think they “let” Jeff and I live there. We adore them all. Our whole lives revolve around these guys and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My other hobbies include photography, cooking, gardening and television. One of my dogs Maggie came from a puppy mill and seeing all of the problems she had from coming from one, I am very much an advocate to stop puppy mills. I also am trying to make a difference in the homeless animal population."
Thank you Lisa for stepping up to the plate and helping our four-legged orphans. This forum is just one more step forward in bringing our Community together to share needs and encourage networking to help place our homeless companion animal population.
If you would like to post a profile, please remember to include a picture, description of the animal, location, and contact information.
Thank you for being a part of the Tennessee Community!
