Help Cat Critters Animal Rescue to help families in need!

June 23, 2008 : 5:17 PM
Cat Critters is currently raising funds for their second chance fund which provides resources to low-income families and senior citizens to assist with their vet care and food for their furry companions.

From Cat Critters Animal Rescue

Cat Critters Animal Rescue (CCAR) is a small rescue group comprised of animal lovers and advocates - most of which who work for a veterinary office. CCAR is a small operation and has very few foster homes. We do what we can to help, but are limited in the number of animals we can intake into our program, so we try to help in other ways.

Over the years, we have provided assistance to families and senior citizens in our community who needed help with feeding their animal companions and providing financial assistance towards vet bills in desperate situations. Due to the current economy, these requests are coming more frequently and CCAR is having a very time keeping up.

More and more families are turning to CCAR and offering to surrender their pets because they are unable to feed them, purchase their medications, or provide necessary and sometimes lifesaving surgery. This is very sad as many of these families love their pets, but they just cannot provide for them. This is where we try to help. We do not have a ton of money, but when we are able to help - we do. We deliver food and litter to low-income families in our local area, and when able, assist with vet bills. We have helped several people pay for surgeries to rectify bladder stones, blocked cats, among other conditions. We also just recently funded a TNR program for a feral colony. What's all this mean? We are running out of funds - and rapidly. There are already so many homeless pets - why add more? Why add to the homeless population when there are so many families who love their pets but just cannot get by in this economy? We want desperately to help families that truly love their pets continue to keep them but we cannot do it alone.

We understand that money is tight for everyone. We are hoping that all of those who come in contact with this message, will be willing to contribute $10 to help us to continue to provide the services as we come across situations. Without funds, we cannot help, and without our help there will be more animals euthanized and surrendered, and many devastated families.

Please, if you can spare $10 towards our cause, we will forever appreciate it - and so will the animals and families that we help. Many of these families keep in close contact with us as they deeply appreciate our assistance. If you are unable to assist us, we understand that too, and thank you for taking the time to read this information.

What you can do
Please send our story to your friends and family! Our goal is to raise $1,000 to add to what little we have left in this fund. This $1,000 would allow us to help MANY families in need. If you can help us, to help others, please make a donation. Every bit helps!
