Is this enough Justice?

April 17, 2008 : 7:35 PM
Victor Rodriquez was sentenced to juvenile treatment facility in western Pennsylvania. It is not known how long he will be there but at least some good has come out of this.

Edna has still not been found and Rodriquez’s accomplices are still free. Rodriquez would have not been capable of planning and executing this dog napping and ransom by himself. During a previous court session it was mentioned that Rodriquez had an IQ of 62. However Rodriquez is not dropping any names. So the search continues for Edna and the accomplices.

Some background:

Edna disappeared on Halloween night 2007 while Mr. Whitting was visiting with a friend in the area of the Italian Market of Philadelphia. He papered the area with fliers that had a reward offer of 500.00 and his cell number.

At 11:58 on Nov. 10th he received a phone call, on his cell, by 2 boys who stated that they had his dog and that they wanted 600.00 for the return of Edna. There was sound of a dog that was yelping from pain.

Almost 3 hours later on Nov. 11th at 2:56 AM, Mr. Whitting got a call on his home phone, which he has on her collar, and a man who sounded in his 20’s. The man said the worst thing a guardian could ever hear, “We have killed your dog. It’s dead”.

The first call came from Rodriquez’s home and the second came from a throw away cell phone. A search warrant was issued for Rodriquez’s home and all the Asst. D.A. could offer was that there was evidence that only one juvenile lived in that home. In regards to Edna or evidence of a dog in the home, the D.A. could only say that she had not entered any evidence into the court records. She also was uncomfortable talking about anything not mentioned in the court. Police are not making any comments on the Edna case.

What can you do:

Please politely ask Asst. District Attorney Heidi Grogan to continue to pursue the truth behind Edna's disappearance and the other two individuals involved. Also make sure to thank her for handling this case and bringing this kid to justice and also getting him the help that he really needs. We need to let them know that animal-lovers worldwide will not let this go. We will not stop our fight - we will continue fighting until their IS Justice for Edna!
