Best Friends Animal Society is pleased to announce our participation in the AWFNJ animal welfare conference as a Silver sponsor and we invite you to join us on February 22 and 23 at the Woodbridge Sheraton in Iselin, NJ.

Sherry Woodard and Russ Mead, will be workshop speakers. Sherry is one of the human "stars" of the popular
Dogtown TV series on National Geographic (Fridays at 9pm).
The
AWFNJ conference will cover exciting topics to help you help animals, including adoption, long-term care and housing. disaster preparedness, coalitions, and more! Meet people just like you who want to help animals in New Jersey, including volunteers, shelter workers, animal control officers and more.
Some of the worshops that Best Friends will be participating in include on
Saturday Feb 23 @ 10:30 Working together for NJ's animals. Best Friends' Gregory Castle and NYC Mayor's Alliance's Jane Hoffman will be the key speakers. Learning to play nice with other animals can save animals lives. How to form a friendship with ACO's and Rescue Groups. Participants also will be taught how to implement a Week for the Animals — a comprehensive venture including educational and public-awareness programs, special discount spay/neuter services, pet-adoption fairs, and public-service awards.

Also on Saturday Feb 23 @ 2:00 PM Dogtown's own
Sherry Woodard will be heading a workshop for
Long-Term Care and Housing for dogs. This workshop will help you learn how to keep the dogs in your care happy and ready for adoption. Creating playgroups, implementing programs that cater to diffrent breeds, dog evaluations, behavior management and prep'ing a dog for adoption.
Sherry Woodard will also be a panel member for the
Pitt bull Forum. That is to be held on
Friday, Feb. 22. Also on the panel is Desiree Bender, HSUS;
Russ Mead, Best Friends Animal Society, and Tim Racer, Bad Rap. This forum will bring the views of all diffrent animal rescue groups. How to market and adopt pitt bulls, counter the bad press, pitt bulls in the community and how to keep humans and dogs safe in your community. Should be a great discussion.
It is the mission and purpose of the
AWFNJ ( Animal Welfare Federation of New Jersey) to unite all New Jersey animal protection organizations, to exchange ideas and information to work collectively to elevate the standard of care and level of knowledge related to animal welfare in the state of New Jersey.
