Cape May County Horse and Livestock Disaster Preparedness Full-Scale Exercise

Sat. April 1st, 8am-1pm! Get ready, Garden State Rescue Volunteers, Shelter Pro's...

...and especially animal control officers and law enforcement! Disaster Recovery Preparedness is essential yet many in our state aren't aware that large animal rescue requires much more planning and awareness!

Cape May County is ready to educate and demonstrate! The county is hosting a full-scale, large animal disaster preparedness exercise!

The program, which will cover water rescue and horse trailer emergency extraction techniques, will take place at the Cape May County Public Safety Training Center.

Allan Schwartz, an expert in animal rescue and disaster relief services, will run the workshop. Schwartz is certified in Technical Animal Rescue, Ice Rescue, Chemical Capture and Restraint, and Incident Command.

Details - Please Note - Pre-Registration is Required by March 20th (see below).

When: Saturday, April 1, 2006 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: Cape May County Public Safety Training Center. 171 Crest Haven Road, Cape May Court House

8:00-9:00 Registration
9:00-9:30 Welcome and Introductions
9:30-10:30 Water Rescue Techniques
10:30-11:00 Break (refreshments provided)
11:00 -12:30 Horse Trailer Emergency Extraction Techniques
12:30-1:00 Wrap Up
