The 2005 Walk for the Animals In Nebraska a Huge Successs!

December 4, 2005 : 5:17 AM
The 2005 Walk for the Animals was a tremendous success. Over 4,000 individuals, nearly 1,000 dogs a parrot and even a few goats enjoyed the day’s events in Elmwood Park.

Sponsorships, Dog Packs and Exhibitors were at an all time high and thanks to all who participated, we are anticipating surpassing our goal.

This year was a very special year for the Walk. The Nebraska Humane Society has welcomed over 40 dogs displaced by hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Donations in support of the 2005 Walk for the Animals will help these animals in our care as well as the animals from Omaha and surrounding areas who have come to the Shelter.

From the volunteers, staff and all the animals at the Nebraska Humane Society…Thank you for making the 2005 Walk for the Animals a success.
