Saved from puppy mill with conditions of stench and filth.
by Michelle Buckalew, Best Friends Network(Omaha) The Nebraska Humane Society in Omaha has 171 new temporary residents. These former dogs were enjoying the previously unknown fresh air and space of their temporary home on Thursday.
Complaints from citizens had resulted in the uncovering of this puppy mill that had kept innocent dogs in unspeakable conditions.
The state became involved. Rick Herchenbach, program specialist for the state commercial dog and cat inspection program, helped spearhead this case.
The mill dogs had been rescued from stench and filth at a puppy mill in south-central Nebraska.
