Stray Rescue of St. Louis Is One Step Closer To Winning $1 Million!

April 11, 2008 : 10:56 AM
Zootoo.com Founder arrives in St. Louis May 1st for City Pep Rally!

ST. LOUIS, April 11, 2008 – On Thursday, May 1, Richard Thompson and his staff from Zootoo are coming to visit and judge the enthusiasm of St. Louis and the needs of Stray Rescue’s shelter(s). Stray Rescue is putting on a HUGE pep rally starting at 9 a.m. to show that St. Louis has truly caught Zootoo fever and how badly Stray Rescue and St. Louis needs this shelter makeover. The exciting event takes place at 2320 Pine St. Downtown near the A.G Edwards/Wachovia Campus.

The Pine Street building was donated to Stray Rescue by A. G. Edwards just prior to its merger with Wachovia. “It was a dream come true to receive this 16,500 sq foot building donated to us, but now we need the miracle of Zootoo to build it out and the awesome support of the community. It will change the landscape of St. Louis and be able to help the people and their companion animals on a whole new level” say Randy Grim, Founder of Stray Rescue.

Richard Thompson will be presenting awards to the city and Stray Rescue during the press conference scheduled to start about 10:30 am. Many corporate and local dignitaries and celebrities will be on hand.

Stray Rescue wants all the wonderful animal lovers in the metro area to come out and show their support, with or without their four legged friends. There will be vendors, live music and a special gift for the first 500 people to show up and cheer Stray Rescue on. “If ever there was a reason to take the morning off from work, this is one of them” says Stray Rescue supporter Gayle Woodall.

Out of 970 shelters across America, Stray Rescue of St. Louis finished second in the Zootoo contest with close to two million points. This made Stray Rescue a finalist for the much needed million dollars for our city’s homeless animals.

“We have one last thing we need to prove to Zootoo to win and that is St. Louis is enthusiastic and needs the money for the animals, so I hope the turnout is in the thousands!” Randy Grim says with a big smile. “Let’s do it for the animals!”
