Animal Relief and Rescue Fellowship (ARRF) are in desperate need of donations to help the animals at the local shelter.
by Judy Marshall, Best Friends Network Program ARRF is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization with fewer than 7 volunteers and does not receive any federal, county, or city funds. The small group of volunteers is dedicated to helping the animals in the Washington County, Leland Mississippi area, specifically, Leland Animal Shelter.
Because there is no city allowance for food or supplies for the animals, the ARRF volunteers rely on donations to help pay for food, medical supplies and veterinary expenses. They have also provided the basic shelter supplies, such as, water buckets, food bowls, hoses to clean dog runs, dog houses for shelter, industrial fans for use in the HOT days of summer, gas for heating in the winter, and blankets for the animals in the outside dog runs. ARRF has also paid for the concrete, fencing, and roofing for ALL outside dog runs.
ARRF is in desperate need of donations for food, worming meds, vaccines and most importantly, a building to store the food. The current building is not air-tight and rats are tearing up the bags of food and eating the contents. The volunteers are running out of money and want to make certain the animals are fed and cared for.
ARRF is also asking for rescue groups and transporters to help, if possible.
