Dogs packing their carriers
September 24, 2006 : 12:00 AM
It's going to be a long trip inside their crates, but the dogs are all ready to go.
Right now, they're all going into their crates, then boarding trucks for the 40-minute ride through Beirut to the airport. Then they have to wait several hours before boarding the plane. And then it's take-off time.
After that, they fly to Manchester, UK, for refueling; then to JFK for customs and refuleing; and then to Las Vegas.
Even then, though they can't get out. The carriers will be put aboard Best Friends for the final three-and-a-half-hour drive to the sanctuary.
"Boy, will we be ready for a good run when we get out!" they're saying.
