I am a volunteer at the Owen County Humane Society a "no kill shelter" in Spencer, IN. My husband & I are involved with the Husky & Malamute Rescue by adopting them. I love animals, nature, hiking & photograghy. I visited Best Friends in June last year (2006) and was inspired to become more active in my community's shelter. My husband, David & I have 4 dogs, one is a 11yr old Malamute named Wiwaci (Sundancer in Lakota Sioux), an 11 yr old Husky named Nanook, a 2 1/2 yr old Husky named Koda (friend in Dakota souix), and a 7 month old Husky named Cikala MATO Wanagi (Little Bear Spirit in Lakota Sioux). All the Husky's are RESCUE DOGS!
