I've always been an advocate for the Underdog. I was the kid to whom neighbors brought injured animals for help. I got in fights in elementary school, sticking up for special needs kids against bullies. All of my pets - from guinea pigs on - have been rescues. I've worked in many types of jobs over 35 years, including physical therapy and special education. But animals - nothing else can fill that spot. I want to change careers, and work with them, even if it's just picking up poop! Nothing matches the appreciation shown in an animal's eyes. My husband and I are seriously considering a move to Utah in a year or so, after our son finishes high school. We're planning a trip this summer so I can spend a week volunteering at Dogtown, while he follows his photography passion through the beautiful surroundings. In the meantime, we live in NC with our Australian Shepherd rescues, Stevie and Abbie. My sweet old matron mutt, Sammy, died in October.
