During the last six years my wife and I have fostered 25 dogs, and helped find them new homes, with Grateful Dogs Rescue. My current foster is Arnie, one of the Gabbs dogs. I have also been a volunteer dog walker at the local animal shelter and SPCA. We have three dogs and two cats of our own.My first visit to Best Friends was in December 2007. Unfortunately, after only a few days, I slipped on the ice in downtown Kanab and shattered my wrist. I stayed around a couple more days to try to help out as best I could, but had to cut short my visit to return home for surgery. (Everything healed.) I returned to BF last November to attend the "How to Start Your Own Sanctuary" workshop, where I met many dedicated and inspiring people.
I can't decide who I like more, the senior dogs at Old Friends or the pot-bellied pigs at Piggy Paradise.
