My "pet peeve" (pun intended) is animal cruelty. On Long Island, New York, there has been a very scary uptick of animal cruelty in 2006 so far and I am now determined to get cruelty laws and sentencing to be harsher so that abusing an animal is treated as seriously as it should be and becomes a deterent to even just one person who would have abused an animal.
