I live in St. Paul, Minnesota, and work as an independent consultant/writer (in another life I was a British historian, although I hope to return to history in the near future). Working at home means I can spent a lot of time with my dog, Sadie, a beautiful girl who was found on the side of the freeway in North Dakota five years ago. No one claimed her, but my friends, who found her, couldn't keep her. So I started as a foster mom, but that lasted about a week because I couldn't imagine not having her around. She's a constant source of fun and sweetness, and makes sure I get out for walks and pottering about the garden. I am an ardent animal supporter and try to participate as I can to write letters in support of protective legislation and no-kill initiatives. I'm also a Guardian Angel (known as wycheck fan). I sponsor dogs at BF, including Poodle Pop. I love reading the blogs by Mabel the beagle (I grew up with a beagle named Toby) and also Jiminy. The BF site is addictive!!
