I am a widow and really wish I could do more for the animals. I have 40 acres of unfenced land and basically no money. I have 2 rescued cats and 2 rescued dogs. If I ever win the lottery I will open an animal sanctuary down here as we really need one! The area I live in is very rural and too many animals are considered barn cats and dogs and just left alone to breed at will. When there are too many they are dumped at the vets in a box at night or shot! I foster kittens for the local vet whenever she needs me and I love it!
I have volunteered at Best Friends in the past and loved it. Wish I could have moved there and stayed forever.
