I'm currently transitioning from working with humans (as a Recreation Therapist) to getting involved in advocacy/activist issues involving animals. I've had many very special animals in my life, from a favorite rat as a child, to my soul mate, a bassett mix that I unfortunately had to part from after a 12 year friendship. It is in her honor, and my frustration at pet "unfriendly" housing, that I want to devote my time to helping animals.
