I use to bring home stray animals as a child...my mom would say to me "NO Monique not another one"! We always had a house full of animals. My true love is large dogs! When I was a child we had a Great Dane...(a rescue) Now as an adult I have a special place in my heart for the bully breeds. My Bullmastiff, Autry.... is running through the fields of the Rainbow Bridge now...I lost him to bone cancer three years ago, that's me and Autry in my photo, I thought I would use this picture in memory of Autry. I also participate in Bullmastiff Rescue of Arizona....My current dog is a rescue pup, she was left at a grocery store at five weeks of age, then handed over to a rescue organization for adoption...her name is Maggie, she has brought so much joy and love to our home and we love her dearly.I am a volunteer at The Arizona Animal Welfare League/SPCA in Phoenix, Arizona, I love working with the dogs, I am very interested in animal behavior, learning about temperaments and saving lives! Oh and I also foster puppies in my home from time to time. I am a true animal lover!Dogs must be respected for who and what they are: Sovereign entities who possess an individual personality and their own rightful share of Divine Spirit, whose breath gives life to all things. Dogs experience the world differently from humans, and their own special awareness and spiritual qualities give them a unique purpose in the universe.February 2008-There is a new addition to the family, his name is Riley. Riley was probably going to be euthanized at the county shelter when he was rescued by AAWL. When it was discovered he was ill, we decided to foster him and he has now become a part of the family. His calm gentle soul brought a nice balance to the home. Riley is struggling to receover from Valley Fever. With everyday we keep hope that Riley will prevail the Valley Fever that is within his body.
