After spending 25 years as an Air Traffic Controller, one visit to Kanab and Best Friends convinced us (my wife as well) that this would be a great place to retire.
Started at BFAS as an Assistant Landscaper - aka weed puller. Ok, it was more than just pulling weeds. Working with two great and very experienced landscapers, I helped expand and beautify Frankies (lots of rock moving) and the Flight Avairy/wildcat rehab enclosure (lots of digging trenches).

In June 07, I was asked to become the caretaker of Angels Rest. Of all the positions I have held in my career, none is more rewarding than this one.

And it was a great experience. However, I realized that I never really took any time off to just unwind. So, I have retired from Best Friends. Now, I just work on all the projects around the house, do volunteer work in town and at BFAS.
I will say that I am busier in retirement than I ever was at a real job.....maybe I'll go back to work a few days a week just to get a break.

We reside in the Vermillion Cliffs area with 3 dogs, 5 cats, 6 chickens and two former Best Friends horses - Guardian Angel Tonta (now called Cleota) and her pasture mate Promise Me Luck.
