I have been an animal lover all my life. I grew up with a miniature sheepdog named Fluffy. I had Fluffy from the age of 3 until highschool. She was a sweet dog and a good companion to grow up with.

I didn't have a cat until after Fluffy passed away. I had always liked cats. I remember petting the outdoor barn cats at my aunt's farm house. I would spend hours out in the cold scratching and cuddling them. And I would beg to let them stay in the laundry room on really cold nights. I think because I didn't have cats growing up I developed an even greater affinity for them.

I still love dogs (you can see one of my favorites from Tylertown in My Pictures). But cats are definitely my favorites now. I spent nearly all my time in Tylertown working with the cats.

Tylertown was a wonderful experience and one that changed my life. I'm not currently working in Modesto, so I decided to continue my volunteer work with animals back home. I am now working with Alley Cat Guardians of Modesto (check out our community on this website). I decided to volunteer with them because I've already adopted 2 "alley cats" and I need to help our neighborhood stop the cycle of stray and feral cats.
