I have been a dog-walking volunteer at Willamette Humane Society for two years. I recently became a team captain. I also write a weekly blog about the dogs I walk with photos and video for the local newspaper, hoping to get more dogs adopted. I have come to love our pit bulls most of all after at first being uneasy about walking them. Over the past two years, four of my favorite pit bulls have had to be euthanized due to stress-related conditions caused from being at the shelter too long. Each one broke my heart.
