Mariana 's Biography
I am the current clerk of Quaker Concern for Animals in Britain. We aim to raise the profile of our fellow animals among Quakers and have a committed inter-faith policy.
We believe in the interconnectedness of all beings and try to live by the precept of ahimsa - harmlessness.
In our family, we have a cat, Shamim (fluffy black girl). Billa (sleek grey boy) died on April 10, but another cat, possibly his brother, judging by the similar features, has mysteriously turned up. He is semi-feral, but can adopt us if he wants!
I am a semi-retired teacher of modern languages and translator. My husband Khalid is an accountant.
