I work in the Parrot Garden at Best Friends. I share my life with several animals at home. They are:Tasha-a 3 1/2 year old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix that was thrown out of a truck into a grocery store parking lot. Blaze-a 2 1/2 year old Husky/Akita mix that was on the E list at a shelter for not being socialized...he does very well with other dogs and people, though he is pretty hyper and overbearing at times.Coco-a 7 year old male Congo African Gray Parrot from Boston whos family had a change in living situations and were no longer able to care for him. They had rescued him from a man who kept him in a dark closet all the time to keep him quiet.Pablo-a 7 year old male Senegal Parrot from the same family as Coco. They had him from when he was a baby.Squeaker-a 7 year old male Lutino Indian Ringneck Parakeet. He was found by a wildlife rehabber when he was only about a year old, and no one ever claimed him. She took care of him for several years, but was unable to give him the attention that he demands, so asked if I'd like to take him.Red-an older Green Cheeked Amazon that we adopted through Best Friends from a rescue they did.Three Zebra finches from the Humane Society...two males and a female...they are the remainder of 6 that we had.A ringneck dove named Circe and her one eyed friend named UniA parrot that we are fostering-Kiku the caique who is also relatively young, and quite the clown :)
