Vega Wants to be Your Lap Dog *Update*
May 1, 2008 : 9:50 PM
One of the dogs rescued by Best Friends from a war zone in Lebanon needs a new home.
*Update* Vega has been adopted! More information coming soon on her new home! Good luck Vega!
Vega was adopted into a new home that, unfortunately, was not a good fit for him because the family owned cats. Vega is currently living with a foster family in Timonium, Maryland until he finds the right family. According to his foster mom, Jeanne, he makes a wonderful pet.
Vega is an amazing dog with an interesting history. He spent his first year of life in war torn Lebanon. Then was rescued by Best Friends and flew out to Utah where he spent another year and a half. Despite his past, he has adjusted well not only to life at the sanctuary but also to his new foster home. Vega just goes with the flow and remains hopeful!
This sweet boy is 3 years old and weighs in at about 60 pounds. Despite his size he is extremely gentle. His sweet soulful golden eyes and calm demeanor make it easy to fall in love with him.
Vega has excellent manners . He is fully housebroken and uses a doggie door. He gets along well with the other two dogs he is currently living with and absolutely adores them. He is a quick learner and has taken cues from his new foster siblings on what proper doggie behavior is. He loves to play wrestle with them, but is never too rough. He loves to take long hikes, walks well on a leash and would make a great jogging partner. He sleeps in each day until the rest of the family wakes up and does not beg for food. Vega’s first love in life is to be petted. You won’t get tired of petting his very soft fur but if you stop for a moment, he gently gives his paw to let you know he’d like a little more love. He also loves belly rubs. Vega is also smart; already knowing several commands. His goal is to please!
After fending for himself on the streets of Beirut, Vega learned that not all men are friendly. He is a bit timid and cautious around men but is working hard to overcome this and is making excellent progress. He is not at all aggressive with men, just has a nervous bark when first approached. All Vega requires is a forever home where he will receive consistent love and companionship. After all he’s been through, he truly deserves it.
