Come to these events and help homeless animals in Las Vegas.
By Dori Gilbert, Best Friends NetworkStart off your morning with a “Splish Splash I was taking a bath” at the Bark-a-thon sponsored by the Vegas K9 Rescue group and Barking Dogs Bakery and Boutique. In addition to adoptable dogs there will be an outdoor doggie wash for a minimum $5 donation. Also, all adopted dogs will be going home with free ID tags. This event will be held from 8:00am-1:00pm at the Barking Dog Bakery and Boutique on West Windmill and South Rainbow.

Then head on over to the Nevada SPCA, at 4800 West Dewey Drive, for a Catnip Tea and Social. In honor of June being Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month refreshments will be served in the free-roaming Cat Condos from Noon to 2:00pm. In addition to possibly winning a prize in the cat themed raffle drawing; you just may end up with one of the sweet kitties, like Tampico or Baby Tiggs, winning your heart. And, to sweeten the deal, during this event there will be reduced adoption fees and extra adoption benefits.
But don’t leave yet! Starting at 2:00pm and going till 4:00pm 102.7 Fresh FM will be broadcasting a live radio feed at the first stop in their “Summer Stomp” celebrations co-sponsored with Vitamin Water. There will be free Vitamin Water and prizes along with the cool tunes of Fresh FM.
And don’t forget to visit the dogs! There are over 100 wonderful dogs at the Nevada SPCA just waiting for someone like you to take them home. And if you fall for one (or two) of them, like Bowtie & Boutique (above) or Bear, it won’t just be a summer love. It will be furever!
