400 PLUS find homes!

Better yet, like one of those ‘40’s “Hey let’s put on a show!” musicals where the most unlikely locals knock ‘em dead like, well, Mickey Rooney and Judy Garlands...oops, showing my age there!

There’s drama...will the weather hold (yes it does rain in California), anticipation...will the public turn out to adopt the animals, and the grand finale...the big push to place all of the shelter animals by the end of the day! You know it’s all going to be amazing, and wonderful, but there is enough that could go wrong to make the whole thing worth watching.
There are no guarantees, but somehow you just know that if you do your part the animals have enough mojo going for them to carry the day. So, true to form, yesterday’s Pet Adoption Festival ay Johnny Carson Park in Burbank had another Hollywood happy ending with about 400 dog, cats bunnies and birds heading off to new homes.

The biggest angst and excitement is around the shelter animals because no one wants to see them go back to the shelter, so at the end of the day representatives of the various rescue groups go into action to dicker and barter to and make arrangements to get any remaining shelter animals into one rescue or another.
Talk about a nail biter! But happy endings aren’t happy unless everyone is headed for a new life and yesterday was no exception.
